As you all know, I work as a Paralegal at a law firm. In order for me to even function as one, I need a lot of things to keep me motivated and focused, but I also need to start my day off right too.
Every morning I have an alarm set at 6 a.m., 6:30 a.m. and 6:45 a.m. on my mobile phone to wake me up. I also have a sunrise alarm clock that begins lighting up from 6 a.m. until it starts playing bird tweet sounds at 6:30 a.m.
I know right, high maintenance much? Unfortunately, I am not a morning person. When I finally get myself to wake up, I turn on my breathing Buddha to guide my breathing exercises as I sit on the floor. I do this for 5 minutes. I find this really helps with my morning anxiety.
By 6:50 a.m. I start making breakfast which is usually avocado toast with a fried egg and a glass of lactose free milk. While I am making breakfast, I play the morning news on my phone using my CBS News app to watch it live.
I head out to work at around 7:30 a.m. and play my morning commute playlist on Spotify while praying I don’t go off on someone in traffic.
I get into the office at around 8:15 a.m. I settle in and place a mobile delivery order through my Peets app for my iced matcha latte and an ice coffee for my assistant. While waiting for our order to come, I spend the first 30 minutes organizing my to-do list for the day using my Rocketbook. I usually look at my boss’s Outlook calendar to check for any deadlines and his emails to do this. Once I finish writing my to-dos, I open my Rocketbook app to send the list to my boss so he knows what the plan is for the day.
Once I’m all ready with my cold drink and to-do list, I decide on the kind of background noise. These days I’ve been listening to the audible app. This usually keeps me going until 11 a.m. when I take a 15-minute walk with my assistant to photosynthesize. My assistant and I usually try to meet our 10,000 step goals for the day using our Samsung galaxy watch. We take a 30-minute walk during our 1-hour lunch at 1:30 p.m. and take another 15-minute walk break at 3:45 p.m.
While I’m working, I am constantly using Google for legal research and looking at court documents on court websites.
At 5 p.m., I am on my way back home. Once I get home, I like to wind down and relax with reading my books on my kindle unlimited app. This is where my addiction kicks in and I can’t put it down!
Out of curiosity, I looked at my app usage on my phone and I wasn’t surprised at all with what I saw. Below is a weekly report of my app usage and Kindle came out on top.

I think I did good on that day…
